Introducing “Souvenirs & Dining Horizon”

Opened in May 2023, “Horizon” is a new destination that serves as both a hub for tourism in Esashi, Hokkaido, and a casual gathering spot for locals.
Housed in a renovated former municipal restaurant, the facility features a snack corner where visitors can enjoy light meals and sweets made with local Esashi ingredients, as well as a specialty products corner stocked with attractive souvenirs.
In the snack corner, you can savor local dishes such as “herring soba” and “herring rice bowls” made with Esashi-grown herring. We also recommend the “Horizon Shake,” a rich soft-serve ice cream made with Hokkaido milk and topped with locally grown aronia berries and other ingredients.
The souvenir corner offers a wide variety of items perfect for gifts, including Esashi’s signature specialties like “simmered herring in sweet soy sauce” and “kelp rolls,” as well as “Esashi Shonbu” and “Esashi Koren.” Be sure to check out Hokkaido-exclusive products and rare local items available only here.
